Sierra Heller was born and raised in Durango, Colorado. She began dancing at age three at a local dance studio where she danced for fourteen years. Her summers were spent attending summer intensives including American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Met, and Orlando Ballet.
As a senior in high school, she moved to Denver, Colorado where she danced with the Colorado. Ballet Academy. Following her year at Colorado Ballet, she moved to Santa Barbara, California to dance as a trainee with State Street Ballet. She has spent the last four years training in Santa Barbara.
Sierra was first introduced to Gyrotonic by the faculty of State Street Ballet. After taking just a few classes, she fell in love with this method and immediately noticed the connections she was able to make between Gyrotonic and her ballet technique. She wanted to share her new found passion with others. Sierra is currently certified in Gyrotonic Level 1, Level 2: Program 1, as well as on the Gyrotoner. She is continually amazed with the level of freedom, connection, and fluidity that this movement has brought into not only her own dancing but also her life outside of the studio. Sierra is thrilled to be a part of the Seed Center!
